All companies with a productive activity, either a crafts or industrial activity, the production of tangible services, or the production of intangible goods or of high technology, are eligible to occupy a BRDA site, as long as they adhere to the prescriptions of the PRAS (Regional Land Development Plan).
Insofar as specialised large-volume retailers and shopping centres are concerned (sectors excluded until the present for establishment on a BRDA site), establishments of this type can be accepted from now on in the event that there is no possibility of establishment on another site in the Brussels Region and after detailed examination of the case by the BRDA.
On the other hand, the following activities continue to be ruled out for any establishment: automobile bodywork (including recycling and demolition); activities consisting of warehousing, logistics and administrative and financial activities.
In view of the importance given to employment, the BRDA’s teams will see to it in all cases that the real estate properties are occupied as a priority by companies that achieve or count on achieving a given employment density per hectare of land.
The standard is 75 people/hectare for intangible asset production and 50 people/hectare for tangible asset production.
